iPhone 6s Plus
The big-screen 6s with stabilized 12MP photos.
Overview
The 6s Plus carried the same upgrades as the smaller 6s in a larger body: 3D Touch, the A9 processor, 2GB of RAM and a stronger aluminum alloy. The 5.5-inch full HD screen took good advantage of 3D Touch gestures, and its landscape layouts made multitasking-style workflows easy.
As before, the larger model got an exclusive camera feature. The 12-megapixel sensor was backed by optical image stabilization, which also helped in 4K video capture and in dim scenes. Live Photos worked on both models, and the screen-as-flash trick on the 5-megapixel front camera made selfies in the dark possible.
Battery quotes stayed at up to 14 hours of video, and the phone became a favorite for people who watched video or read on their handset. It stayed on sale until 2018, and was supported by iOS updates through iOS 15.
Why it mattered
It was the first large iPhone with 3D Touch and the last Plus-sized model to launch with a 12MP single-lens camera, and it received iOS updates for six years.
