iPhone Air
A 5.6 mm titanium iPhone, the thinnest Apple has made.
Overview
The iPhone Air traded camera count for sheer slimness. At 5.64 millimeters thick and 165 grams, it was the thinnest iPhone ever, and its titanium frame with a ceramic-coated front made it sturdier than its looks suggested. A raised camera plateau at the top of the back houses the processor, modem and camera in one strip.
It packs a 6.5-inch ProMotion display, the A19 Pro chip with a five-core GPU, a 48-megapixel Fusion main camera with a 2x optical-quality crop and an 18-megapixel Center Stage selfie camera. Apple's N1 wireless chip and C1X modem gave it Wi-Fi 7 and 5G with efficient power use, and it supported only eSIM.
Battery life was rated at up to 27 hours of video playback, with an optional MagSafe Battery accessory raising that to 40 hours. It has a USB-C port and sold from $999 with 256GB.
Why it mattered
It was Apple's first attempt at an ultra-thin iPhone and replaced the Plus models in the lineup.
