Apple has seeded the release candidate of iOS 27.2 to registered developers, a week after the fourth beta of the update. An iPadOS 27.2 release candidate arrived alongside it, according to MacRumors.

A release candidate is normally the build Apple intends to ship, provided testers do not turn up a serious bug. MacRumors says it expects iOS 27.2 to reach the public before the end of October, possibly as soon as next week. Apple has not given a release date.

What is in the update

The headline addition is expanded Siri AI language support. Apple had previously said the new languages would arrive in October, and MacRumors lists French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish among them.

Other changes reported in the release candidate include:

  • New profiles in the Apple TV app.
  • Anniversary alerts as part of Call Context.
  • A new Apple Music icon.
  • An alternative, expanded App Tracking Transparency prompt for users in the European Union.

The redesigned Health app is not included

The new Health app features that appeared in earlier betas are gone from this build. Apple removed them in beta 4 and said they would arrive in a future update, and the release candidate keeps that position. Anyone expecting the Health overhaul with iOS 27.2 will have to wait.

How to try it

Registered developers can install the build through Settings > General > Software Update by choosing the iOS 27 developer beta. Apple released release candidates for macOS 27.2, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS on the same day, as MacRumors reported.

What to watch

The timing matters because Apple has an October 28 event in Los Angeles, and the next software update could land before then. Whether Apple ships iOS 27.2 before the event or alongside new hardware has not been announced. Cupertino News will report when Apple publishes an official release.
