iPad (A16)
The everyday iPad, now with 128 GB and a quicker A16 chip.
Overview
The 2025 iPad is an incremental update to the 2022 redesign, which is why the exterior is nearly identical. It has the same 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, top-button Touch ID, landscape 12-megapixel front camera and four-color palette of blue, pink, yellow and silver.
The key change is the A16 chip. It brings a five-core CPU, a four-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine, and the memory rose to 6 GB, so multitasking in iPadOS 18 is noticeably smoother than on the A14 model. It also starts at 128 GB instead of 64 GB, and the entry price was cut by $100 compared with the 10th generation.
There are limits: the chip lacks the memory required for Apple Intelligence, the display has no laminated layer and the USB-C port is limited to USB 2.0 speeds. It supports Apple Pencil (USB-C) and the first-generation Pencil with an adapter, along with the Magic Keyboard Folio.
Why it mattered
Reset the entry-level iPad price at $349 while doubling its storage, keeping the line competitive for students and families.
