iPhone 11 Pro
The first Pro iPhone, with a triple camera and OLED display.
Overview
The 11 Pro was the first iPhone to carry the Pro label. It replaced the XS and added a third rear camera, a 2x telephoto next to the wide and ultra wide lenses, all at 12 megapixels. The square camera bump on the matte back became one of the most recognizable iPhone design elements.
The display was named Super Retina XDR, a 5.8-inch OLED panel with up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness for HDR content. The frosted glass back was etched with a texture and came in finishes that included a new Midnight Green. Apple also put an 18-watt fast charger in the box for the first time.
The A13 Bionic delivered a boost in efficiency, giving the 11 Pro about four more hours of video playback than the XS. The video capabilities were among the best on any phone, with extended dynamic range at 60 fps.
Why it mattered
It created the Pro tier, which has remained Apple's flagship iPhone line ever since.
