iPhone 13 Pro Max
The longest-lasting iPhone yet, with a 120 Hz 6.7-inch display.
Overview
The 13 Pro Max was a showcase for the iPhone 13 generation's gains in efficiency. It combined a 6.7-inch ProMotion display, the A15 Bionic with a five-core GPU and a battery of 4,352 mAh, producing Apple's claim of up to 28 hours of video playback, the longest of any iPhone at the time.
The camera system matched the 13 Pro: a wide lens with an f/1.5 aperture and sensor-shift stabilization, a macro-capable ultra wide lens and a 3x telephoto. Night mode, Photographic Styles, Cinematic mode and ProRes video were available, and the phone supported 5G on a wide range of carriers.
The 1TB storage option was the first on an iPhone. A matte glass back, stainless steel frame and the new Sierra Blue finish, along with Alpine Green added in 2022, rounded out the design.
Why it mattered
Its battery life set a benchmark that Apple kept raising in each following Pro Max.
