Apple has priced the iPhone 18 Pro at $1,199 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at $1,299 in the United States. Both figures are $100 higher than the corresponding iPhone 17 models. Each model starts with 256GB of storage.

For the first time the Pro line offers a 2TB tier, above the 1TB ceiling of previous generations. A separate event recap reports that the extra cost of the 1TB option pushes the total price increase over last year to $300.

On the hardware side, MacRumors' event coverage says the phones use a new A20 Pro chip, described there as Apple's first 2-nanometer smartphone processor. The cameras gain a variable aperture, along with manual aperture and shutter-speed controls and an Apple Reference Image feature meant to help verify photo authenticity. The Pro Max is rated for up to 45 hours of battery life, which Apple calls its longest on an iPhone, and the phones use the new C2 modem.

Pre-orders opened on Saturday, September 12 and the phones reached stores on September 18. Apple Upgrade financing starts at $34.99 a month over 24 months, and trading in an iPhone 14 or newer can reduce the price by up to $1,200.

One practical note from the same coverage: the camera plateau is about 0.1mm thicker than on the iPhone 17 Pro, so cases are not interchangeable between the two generations.
