Filming on the second season of Pluribus, Apple TV's science-fiction drama from creator Vince Gilligan, is reportedly getting under way today in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

MacRumors, citing a report from the trade outlet Production List, says cameras are expected to start rolling on October 31, 2026. Neither Apple nor the show's producers have confirmed the start date in a public statement that we could find, so the timing should be treated as a report rather than an official schedule.

What is known

Pluribus stars Rhea Seehorn and premiered on Apple TV on November 7, 2025. A second season had already been commissioned before this week's production report, according to MacRumors. The show is the latest series from Gilligan, who is best known for creating Breaking Bad and co-creating Better Call Saul, both of which were also made in New Mexico.

Production List's report, as described by MacRumors, says the series is heading back to Albuquerque for the new run of episodes. That would keep the production in the same state where much of the first season was made, although the reports we reviewed do not detail which stages or locations will be used.

What is still unknown

Apple has not announced a premiere date for Season 2, and neither report indicates how many episodes are planned or when shooting is expected to wrap. With filming only just beginning, a release in the near term looks unlikely, but any timing beyond that would be speculation at this stage.

The production start comes as Apple keeps expanding what it offers around its streaming service. This week alone, Apple has shipped a stream of new hardware and software updates, including tvOS 27.2, which added FaceTime links, shuffled screen savers and Find My support for the Siri Remote. The Apple TV service itself, however, is a separate business from those hardware launches, and Apple has not tied the Pluribus production to any product announcement.

We will update this story if Apple or the production confirms a start date, cast details or a premiere window.
