iPad Air 13-inch (M2)
A bigger-screen Air arrives for the first time.
Overview
The 13-inch iPad Air is the first Air with a screen larger than 10.9 inches, and its footprint is nearly identical to that of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The price starts $200 above the 11-inch version.
It uses the same M2 chip, 8 GB of RAM and 12-megapixel cameras as the smaller model, so performance is unchanged, but the larger panel peaks at 600 nits and has a resolution of 2732 x 2048, matching the large Pro's pixel density. The larger chassis also holds a bigger battery, keeping runtime at roughly ten hours.
Accessories follow the 11-inch model, including Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C) and a Magic Keyboard sized for the 13-inch body. For people who want a big canvas without paying for a Pro, this was the main attraction.
Why it mattered
Opened a large-screen tier to the mid-range iPad lineup.
