Apple patches a possibly exploited CoreGraphics flaw on older iPhones, MacRumors reports
Apple has pushed security updates to older iPhones and iPads that close a flaw in CoreGraphics, the framework behind much of the system's graphics handling. According to Apple, the company is aware of a report that the issue may have been exploited in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals, on versions of iOS before iOS 27. MacRumors reported the details on Tuesday.
The CoreGraphics fix arrives in iOS 18.7.11 and iPadOS 18.7.11. Those releases are aimed at hardware that cannot run iOS 26: the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and the seventh-generation iPad. Apple describes the risk as follows: processing a maliciously crafted file could lead to arbitrary code execution.
