TrendForce expects Apple to ship between 1.2 million and 1.5 million of its new OLED MacBook Pro in 2027, according to a report summarized by 9to5Mac. The forecast comes just days after Apple introduced the first touchscreen Mac, a MacBook Pro with a tandem OLED display that Apple calls PROLED XDR.

The market research firm sees Apple's move as a significant moment for the broader laptop industry. TrendForce projects that global OLED notebook shipments will grow by nearly 40 percent in 2026 and by more than 40 percent again in 2027, reaching 46.6 million units by 2030. Annual growth is expected to peak at 42.8 percent in 2028 before easing to 30.8 percent.

Market research firm TrendForce now expects Apple to take close to 30 percent of the global foldable smartphone market in 2027, according to a report published on October 28 and covered by 9to5Mac. If the forecast holds, the iPhone Duo would help push Apple into second place in the segment within roughly a year of the product's arrival.

TrendForce projects that Apple will hold 29.8 percent of foldable shipments in 2027. The firm's earlier September forecast put Apple at 5 million iPhone Duo units shipped by the end of 2026, equal to 24.8 percent of the segment this year.
