iPhone 14 Pro Max
The big Pro with Dynamic Island, 48MP and the longest battery life.
Overview
The largest model of the 2022 Pro line had a 6.7-inch ProMotion display with the same Dynamic Island and always-on screen as the 14 Pro. It also had the same camera upgrades, led by the 48-megapixel main sensor that merged pixels for bright 12-megapixel photos or could shoot 48-megapixel ProRAW images.
Battery capacity was around 4,323 mAh, enough for up to 29 hours of video playback per Apple's tests. The A16 Bionic, with its display engine tuned for the always-on screen, kept power use low.
A stainless steel frame, matte glass back and new Deep Purple color distinguished the Pro Max from the aluminum standard models. It also supported Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection, and storage ranged from 128GB to 1TB. A new low-light front autofocus camera made selfies and FaceTime calls sharper.
Why it mattered
It was the longest-lasting iPhone Apple had built up to that point.
