MacBook Air (13-inch, Late 2010)
The 13-inch Air gained a higher-resolution display and an SD slot.
Overview
The larger sibling of the 11-inch Air had a 13.3-inch display with a sharper 1440 by 900 resolution, a slimmer and lighter body than any earlier Air, and a full-size keyboard. It had two USB ports and an SD card slot, plus a battery that Apple rated at up to seven hours.
Inside was a 1.86 GHz Core 2 Duo (2.13 GHz as an upgrade), NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics and 2 GB of memory. The base 128 GB flash drive was fast and removed the need for a spinning disk entirely.
It looked like a refinement of the 2008 idea but was the first Air that most people could comfortably use as their only computer.
Why it mattered
Turned the 13-inch MacBook Air into a credible main computer thanks to flash storage and a long battery life.
