MacBook Pro (14-inch, M2 Pro / M2 Max, 2023)
Faster chips, Wi-Fi 6E and better battery life in the same body.
Overview
Apple refreshed the 14-inch MacBook Pro just over a year after the redesign, leaving the body and display untouched. M2 Pro gave 10 or 12 CPU cores and up to 19 GPU cores, and M2 Max offered a 12-core CPU with up to 38 GPU cores and as much as 96 GB of unified memory.
Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 joined the list of wireless upgrades, and the HDMI port could now drive an 8K display at 60 Hz. A high-power mode helped hold full speed for long exports.
The model was replaced in October 2023 by the M3 versions, which brought a space black finish.
Why it mattered
