MacBook Pro (16-inch, M1 Pro / M1 Max, 2021)
The big-screen Pro with 21 hours of battery and desktop-class graphics.
Overview
The 16.2-inch model uses the same design as the 14-inch version but with a bigger battery of 100 watt-hours and a bigger cooling system. It delivered up to 21 hours of video playback and sustained the full power of the M1 Max chip.
Graphics options reached 32 GPU cores and the maximum memory was 64 GB with up to 400 GB/s of memory bandwidth. A high-power mode appeared in macOS Monterey on the Max chip. The 3456 by 2234 display had ProMotion and the XDR brightness range for HDR editing.
Fast charging via MagSafe 3 could refill half the battery in thirty minutes with a suitable adapter.
Why it mattered
