MacBook Pro (14-inch, M5, 2025)
M5 adds neural accelerators in every GPU core to the entry Pro.
Overview
Announced in October 2025, the M5 MacBook Pro was a chip-only update. The M5 has a ten-core CPU with four performance and six efficiency cores, a ten-core GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core, and unified memory with more bandwidth than M4. Apple said AI workloads ran several times faster than on the M4 version.
The 14.2-inch XDR display, Space Black and Silver finishes, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, SDXC and MagSafe 3 stayed the same. SSD speeds were roughly doubled, and the Apple N1 wireless chip added Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.
The starting price stayed at 1,599 dollars at launch; in March 2026 the base storage rose to 1 TB and the starting price to 1,699 dollars.
